2018 has finally come to an end and just like every other year, I’ve taken some time to think about everything that happened throughout these past 12 months; the moments I enjoyed, the memories I made, and the lessons I learned.

Here are a few of my favourite highlights from this year:

Family & Friends
Each year, I try to make more of an effort to strengthen the relationships I have, while building new ones with the people who come into my life. This year I spent some wonderful quality time with my closest friends and family, revived some old friendships, and was also blessed with some truly lovely colleagues.

Singing… A Lot
Singing is a big part of my life, and this year, I made it a point to sing more and even write some songs of my own. I also had some great singing opportunities; albeit few and far between. Whether a wedding, a birthday celebration, a staff party, or a gig, there’s nothing quite like that feeling I get when I’m singing and performing.

Getting Sh*t Done
Planning a wedding and preparing a house to live in is a lot of pressure – both in terms of time and finances. This year we very productive though and everything seems to be right on track. From proposing to our bridal / groomsmen teams to sorting out our invitations and souvenirs, and from scrubbing each individual tile in the house to almost completing our kitchen, living room, and bedroom, I think it’s fair to say we’ve done a great job. 🙂

A Year of New Things
This year brought with it a lot of newness for me; a new job, a new nose, some new projects that I’ve been working on, new experiences, and starting my blog! Each of these taught me some important lessons about life and about myself, and I’m thankful for all of them.

Summer 2018 - I launched my blog

2018 has been good to me, but I’m welcoming 2019 with open arms.

On that note, I’d like to wish you all a very happy new year. Please be safe and responsible in your celebrations.

Until next year,

Cricket x
